Meet the Chapel Hill Dental Team

Jessica – Dental Hygienist

Jessica knew as early as high school that she wanted to work in dentistry. She was drawn to its unique combination of healthcare and personal connection, as well as the opportunity to help people feel both comfortable and confident. She earned her bachelor’s degree in dental hygiene from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and has now spent 19 years caring for patients. Her professional experience also includes five years as an adjunct faculty member at UNC-Chapel Hill.

Since joining Chapel Hill Advanced Dentistry in 2024, Jessica has loved being part of a team dedicated to creating a dental experience that feels different from the typical office. She believes every patient deserves personalized care and enjoys getting to know the people she treats while building relationships that last. She is equally proud to work with modern dental technology that allows the team to combine excellent clinical care with a comfortable, individualized experience.

Outside the office, Jessica loves cheering on her two children at ball games and dance performances. Her family members are passionate UNC fans who enjoy attending Carolina sporting events and making memories together. Jessica has also volunteered with the Baptists on Mission dental bus, using her skills to help bring dental care to people in need.

Lindsay Dentel – Registered Dental Hygienist

Lindsay’s path to dental hygiene began during her undergraduate years, when a friend invited her to pursue the field alongside her. The promise of meaningful work, dependable job prospects, and perhaps even a few Fridays off sounded better than any of the many majors she had considered—and more than two decades later, it is clear she found exactly where she belongs.

A graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and a GBT-certified hygienist, Lindsay has worked in dentistry for 22 years and has been part of Chapel Hill Advanced Dentistry since 2004. What she treasures most is the opportunity to build lasting relationships founded on trust. Some of the patients she cares for today have been with her for more than 20 years!

Outside the office, Lindsay enjoys exercising and spending time with family and friends. She is also deeply involved in her community, volunteering as a soccer and cross-country coach, working with children through her church, and serving on both her local charter school board and its foundation board. Her family has also opened its home to children in foster care for the past decade.

Heather Holloway – Dental Assistant

For Heather, caring for patients means more than assisting with their treatment. It means helping them feel safe, heard, and genuinely at ease throughout their visit. She was drawn to dentistry by the opportunity to care for others while helping them build greater confidence in their smiles—something she has now been doing for more than 11 years.

Heather completed her training at Alamance Community College and joined Chapel Hill Advanced Dentistry in 2019. Kind, gentle, and attentive, she has a special place in her heart for patients who feel nervous about dental care. She enjoys providing the steady reassurance and compassionate support they need to have a more positive experience. Heather also appreciates the convenience and quality the practice’s in-house laboratory makes possible for its patients.

Away from the office, you can usually find Heather cheering on her children at their softball and baseball games, spending time outdoors with her dog, Margo, or enjoying a day of fishing. If she were not working in dentistry, she jokes that she would probably be taking many more naps!

Skylar Kelley – Dental Assistant II

Skylar knew by her senior year of high school that she wanted to pursue a career in dentistry. After completing her training at the Sunrise School of Dental Assisting, she joined Chapel Hill Advanced Dentistry in 2024. She loves helping patients understand their care in simple, approachable terms—and making them laugh along the way. For Skylar, there is nothing better than seeing a patient leave feeling more comfortable and confident than when they arrived.

Friendly, outgoing, and always ready with a little humor, Skylar appreciates working in a practice where the latest dental technology helps the team provide an exceptional patient experience. Outside the office, she enjoys antique shopping, baking, spending time with her boyfriend, Bryce, and making memories with her family and friends. If she had not chosen dentistry, she might have headed to law school instead!

Alexis – Dental Hygienist

Alexis is a dedicated dental hygienist who is passionate about helping patients achieve healthier smiles while feeling comfortable and cared for every step of the way. She earned her dental hygiene degree from Coastal Carolina Community College and also holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Healthcare Management.

For Alexis, dentistry is the perfect blend of healthcare and personal connection. She enjoys building relationships with patients, educating them about their oral health, and helping them feel at ease in the dental chair. Whether she’s performing preventive cleanings, taking digital X-rays, or providing personalized oral health guidance, her goal is to deliver high-quality care with a gentle touch.

Alexis joined the practice in 2025 and loves being part of a team that prioritizes patient comfort, personalized care, and a welcoming environment where every patient feels heard and valued.
Outside the office, Alexis enjoys reading, spending time with her dog Kai, relaxing at the beach, and making memories with family and friends. If she weren’t working in dentistry, she’d be exploring the world through travel.

Kaelan – Patient Care Coordinator

Kaelan is often one of the first friendly faces patients see when they visit the practice. As Patient Care Coordinator, she helps patients navigate scheduling, insurance, payment questions, and every detail in between, ensuring their experience is smooth and stress-free from start to finish.

Since joining the practice in 2025, Kaelan has found the most rewarding part of her role to be helping anxious patients feel comfortable and confident about their dental care. Seeing someone walk in with fear and leave with a smile reminds her why she loves what she does.

Kaelan believes the practice’s in-house dental lab and advanced technology help create an exceptional patient experience, allowing many treatments to be completed more efficiently and conveniently.

When she’s not at the office, Kaelan enjoys spending time with her wife, Kelsey, and their dachshund, Sedrick. She describes herself as resilient, dedicated, understanding, passionate, and kind—and if she weren’t in dentistry, she says she would likely be serving the community alongside her wife as a police officer.

Sommer – Practice Administrator

With more than 20 years of experience in dentistry, Sommer brings a wealth of knowledge, leadership, and compassion to her role as Practice Administrator. Having discovered her passion for dentistry while still in high school, she has spent her career helping patients feel informed, supported, and confident throughout their dental journeys.

Sommer joined the practice in 2026 and is dedicated to creating a positive, seamless experience for every patient who walks through the door. She believes that exceptional dental care goes beyond treatment—it starts with building meaningful relationships and ensuring patients feel comfortable and cared for from their very first visit.

One of the things Sommer loves most about her job is helping nervous patients feel at ease and celebrating the confidence that comes with a healthy smile. She takes pride in fostering an environment where patients feel welcome, informed, and valued.

She is especially excited about the advanced technology available at the practice, including the convenience and efficiency of same-day crowns, which help make dental care more comfortable and accessible for patients.

When she’s away from the office, Sommer enjoys spending time with her family, relaxing at the beach, and cooking for her busy household of six. Compassionate, dedicated, organized, dependable, and motivating, she brings both heart and experience to every aspect of patient care.
